Redmi Launches the K20 and K20 Pro Smartphones in Beijing

The Flagship Killer is here. Xiaomi has revealed the K20 and K20 Pro smartphones, as flagship smartphones under the Redmi brand, in Beijing.

Both the smartphones feature AMOLED screens, in-display fingerprint sensor, 3D-four curved large arc body, pop-up selfie camera module and hardware DC dimming support.

Even though there is no official word on bringing both the smartphones to India, Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi’s India head has already revealed that the K20 will make its way to the country.

Price: K20 and K20 Pro

The K20 Pro smartphone has been launched at a price of CNY 2,499(approx. INR 25,200) in China for the 6GB/64GB variant. There are 3 more varainats available, listed below:

  • 6GB/128GB: Priced at CNY 2,599 (approx. INR 26,200)
  • 8GB/128GB: Priced at CNY 2,799 (approx. INR 28,200)
  • 8GB/256GB: Priced at CNY 2,999(approx. INR 30,200)

The other smartphone K20, carries a price tag of CNY 1,999(approx. INR 20,200) for the 6GB/64GB variant, whereas the 6GB/128GB version comes at CNY 2,099 (approx. INR 21,200).

In terms of colors, both the smartphones will be available in Glacier Blue, Flame Red and Carbon Black as options.

Specs: K20 and K20 Pro

The Redmi K20 Pro features a dual-SIM(Nano) configuration and runs on Android 9 Pie with an addition of MIUI 10. The smartphone features a 6.39-inch AMOLED full-HD+ screen with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 855 SoC processor, coupled with Adreno 640 GPU and upto 8GB of RAM. The smartphone includes a 4,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support, 3.5mm audio-jack, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS and Wi-Fi.

In terms of optics, the smartphone features a triple camera setup at the rear which is AI powered and includes a 48MP primary sensor with Sony IMX586 sensor and a f/1.75 lens. As for the secondary sensor, there is a 13MP wide-angle lens and a 8MP f/2.4 lens for the tertiary sensor. For selfie lovers, there is a 20MP sensor at the front.

The Redmi K20 is barely similar to its Pro version. The differences lie in the processor, as the K20 features a Snapdragon 730 SoC, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The battery too, only supports upto 18W fast charging.
