With the increasing competition and the consumers getting spoilt for choice within the INR 10k-15k budget, Xiaomi has decided to reduce the prices of their Mi A2 smartphone. The price of the smartphone is now at INR 11,999, a reduction of INR 2,000 in its prices.
The prices of the Mi A2 had already been slashed a couple of months ago to INR 13,999, but the Chinese smartphone maker has decided to further lower its prices.
A quick recap would show that the Mi A2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC and has a 3,000mAh battery, which supports Quick Charge 4+. In addition, the smartphone has a 20MP camera at the rear and front together with an f/1.75 lens and is a part of teh Google’s Android One Program.

In a recent tweet, Manu Kumar Jain, the Global VP of Xiaomi confirmed that the price of the 4GB/64GB variant is now INR 11,999. However, the 6GB/128GB variant is still available at INR 15,999 and sees no change in price.
The drop in price is effective and the smartphone is available for purchase via online and offline stores.

When launched, the Mi A2 had arrived with Android 8.1 Oreo, but the smartphone has received an Android 9 Pie update. The smartphone has a dual-Nano SIM, a 5.99-inch full HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Powering the Mi A2 is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC processor with 4GB/6GB RAM options.
Coming to the imaging capabilities, the Mi A2 has a dual camera setup at the rear with a 12MP Sony IMX486 sesnor and a f/1.75 lens as the primary sensor. It also hosts a20MP Sony IMX376 sensor together with a 4-in-1 Super Pixel tech and an f/1.75 lens. Coming to the front camera, there is a 20MP sensor along with a soft-light LED flash.
In terms of storage capability, the smartphone has 64GB and 128GB of inbuilt storage as options, both of which are expandable with the help of a microSD card. Connectivity options include support for 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C (v2.0).
The Mi A2 hosts a fingerprint sensor on the rear and also has a number of sensors in built. They are a digital compass, an accelerometer, a proximity sensor, a gyroscope and an ambient light sensor. Powering all of this is a 3,000mAh battery.
