Samsung Launches Its Galaxy S Series in India

Samsung had launched its entire range of Galaxy S Series, which comprised of the Galaxy S10, the Galaxy S10+ and the Galaxy S10e at an event in San Francisco, recently. The Korean smartphone maker has launched the same Galaxy S series now in India and it starts at a price of INR 55,900. The most talked about features of the Galaxy S series include the Infinity-O Displays with Dynamic AMOLED panels and the inclusion of 8nm octa core Samsung Exynos 9820 SoC processors.

Price: Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10e

The Samsung Galaxy S10e is the cheapest of the lot and starts at a price of INR 55,900 for the 6GB/128GB storage version. The S10e is available in Prism Black and Prism White color options.

Next up is the blue-eyed smartphone, the Galaxy S10, which is priced at INR 66,900 in India. The price is for the 8GB/128Gb variant, whereas the 8GB/512GB storage variant costs up to INR 84,900. When it comes to color options, the 512GB version is available in a Prism White option, whereas the 128GB version is available in Prism Black, Blue and White color options.

Lastly, comes the big boy of the lot and the Galaxy S10+ starts at INR 73,900 in India. It is available in three variants-namely the 8GB/128GB variant which is priced at INR 73,900, the 8GB/512Gb variant at INR 91,900 and the 12GB/1TB storage variant at INR 1,17,900. The top two variants, the 1TB and 512GB ones will be available in Ceramic Black and White color options, whereas the 128GB is available in Prism Black, Blue and White color options.

The Galaxy S series are available to go on sale in India from the 8th of March via online and offline stores. The smartphones come with a number of launch offers. Some of them are:

  • One can purchase any of the Galaxy S series smartphone via Airtel Online Store with a down payment of INR 7,499 and an EMI of INR 2,599.
  • For those who have pre-booked, a user gets to chose between the Galaxy Watch at INR 9,999 or the new Galaxy Buds at INR 2,999.
  • On pre-booking one can also opt for an upgrade bonus up to INR 15,000 and with a cashback of up to INR 6,000 with HDFC cards.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 is a dual-SIM smartphone which runs on Android 9 Pie along with Samsung’s One UI customization. It features a 6.1-inch QHD+ Curved Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Display with an 19:9 aspect ratio and a 550ppi pixel density. Powering the smartphone is a 8nm octa-core Samsung Exynos 9820 SoC along with a 8GB LPDDR4x RAM.

Coming to the imaging capabilities, the Galaxy S10 hosts a triple camera setup in the rear together with Samsung’s Dual OIS technology. It consists of a 12MP 77-degree lens wide-angle camera coupled with 2PD autofocus and a variable aperture that ranges from f/1.5-f/2.4 as a primary sensor, a 12MP 45-degree lens telephoto camera with 0.5x and 2x optical zoom and autofocus and a f/2.4 aperture as the secondary sensor, a 16MP 123-degree ultra-wide lens camera with fixed focus and an f/2.2 aperture with 10x digital zoom.

For the selfie lovers, the S10 houses a 10MP 80-degree lens single camera with 2PD autofocus and an f/1.9 aperture. The smartphone comes in two storage variants – the 128GB and the 512GB versions – both of which are expandable up to 512 GB with the help of a microSD card.

The Galaxy S10 comes with a host of sensors which include a barometer, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, RBG light sensor, an accelerometer, a digital compass, an ambient light sensor and a proximity sensor. The smartphone also has an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, whereas the connectivity options include 4G VoLTE (LTE Cat. 20), Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Powering the new smartphone is a 3,400 mAH battery.

The Galaxy S10+ bears resemblance to its younger sibling, the S10. Featuring a 6.4-inch QHD+ Curved Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Display, it retains the same 19:9 aspect ratio, but with a lower pixel density of 438ppi. Powered by the same octa-core processor as the Galaxy S10, the S10+ has 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and a 12GB LPDDR4x RAM as options.

Coming to the camera options, the S10+ has a similar camera setup as compared to the S10, at the rear. But, in the front there is a dual selfie camera as opposed to a single camera in the S10. The primary camera is similar to the one present on the S10 together with an 8MP 90-degree lens with a fixed focus RGB depth sensor and an f/2.2 aperture.

As for the storage options, the S10+ is available in three storage variants- 128GB, 512GB and 1TB- and all are expandable up to 512GB with the help of a microSD card. The S10+ variant includes the same sensors present on the S10 version, which includes the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Powering the new smartphone is a 4,100 mAH battery.

Lastly, the smartphone which starts the series is the S10e with some prominent differences. The S10e features a smaller 5.8-inch full-HD+ Flat Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Display with a pixel density of 522ppi. It also hosts the same processor as the rest two, but with 6GB and 8GB RAM options.

As for the camera options, the S10e features a dual camera setup at the rear which consists of a 12MP 77-degree wide-angle lens with 2PD autofocus and a variable aperture of f/1.5 – f/2.4 as the primary sensor. In addition, there is a 16MP fixed focus camera with 123-degree ultra-wide lens having an f/2.2 aperture. This setup gives from 0.5x optical zoom to 8x digital zoom. For the selfie camera, the S10e hosts a similar one as to what is present on the S10.

Coming to the storage variants, the S10e is available in 128GB and 256GB options, both of which are expandable up to 512GB with the help os a microSD card. The only sensor that the S10e doesn’t have is the heart rate sensor, rest of the sensors are the same and it does not even host an in-display fingerprint sensor, but has the capacitive fingerprint sensor on the home button. Powering the S10e is a 3,100 mAH battery.
